Either I have the biggest pimple of my life or it’s a large bug bite right under my cheek bone. Last night, the bump was almost the size of a quarter, but this morning, the swelling has gone down to about dime size. The thing about this bump is that it’s not smooth and glossy like a big pimple. It’s warped and oddly shaped…almost like I have an abnormal growth plastered to my face. Ew. It’s slightly red too which makes it all the more obvious. And of course, I can’t help but constantly poke and prod at it which could possibly be the worst thing to do. At first, when I saw this bump, I was reminded of cases where babies are born with their twin sibling attached to a part of their body, but the embryo never fully develops so it’s just a big lump/sac. Anyways, I hope the swelling goes down immediately. I can feel the lump whenever I smile. It gets in the way, and I can only smile half way before my lips freeze into an awkward position. How attractive.
Ok, so I finally renewed my gym membership AND signed up for a one hour pilates class that meets two times a week! I’m so doomed though. I’ve only done pilates a couple times in my life, and it was in the comfort of my own home. I don’t really know how I feel about doing it with a group of people who are probably experts. I’ll just be the lumpy beached whale who can’t even bend over and touch my knees and will most likely pass gas by accident while doing certain moves. I’ll probably start sweating profusely all over the yoga mat, so I should go out and get some sweatbands and whatnot before my first class next week. At least I got a friend to join with me, so I hope she doesn’t flake out and not attend the classes!
Hello, July 1, it is time to get into shape and be more healthy! I think I’ll hit the gym after work today and see if I can last on the eliptical more than 5 minutes without dry heaving and sweating like a maniac.
haha don’t worry erica. my friend risa and i do yoga and we’re always intimidated by the “experts” on the other mats. so we tell each other, “they’re faking it.” and it’s usually true. also, no one will be looking at you. they’re probably all trying not to fart too. =) yay for gym! my knee twinges but maybe i will go swimming or something.
oh yeah, also, i have three enormous mosquito bites. one on my neck (it’s nice and red) and two on my back.

Your pilates class prediction had me in stitches…because I feel your pain mainly.
I used to be a personal trainer years ago and although I know more than enough, I still feel the same way getting in there with the ‘experienced’ again.
